Local Missions
Local
After establishing a firm foundation of faith, GCC is now becoming more involved in meeting the needs of families in our county. Each church family is ask to view their neighborhood as a mission field and GCC has been involved in assisting in situations that have arisen. Our Creative Arts Ministry has plans to offer outdoor festivals and concerts to meet families in cour community and to identify how we can better minister to our local families. We support the work of Backpack Evangelism led by Lee and Sherry Rushing as they ministry in a variety of evangelistic venues in our region. We know God has placed us in a strategic location to minister to the people of Montgomery County along with our sister churches.
State
GCC contributes to and works with the Southern Baptist of Texas to accomplish mission work within our state, including disaster relief, children’s homes and new start churches. Grace Community has assisted in the planting of nine churches including our mission church, Grace Family Church located in the Friendswood area. Being a mission minded church requires that we devote our time, efforts and resources to proclaim that Christ is the redeemer, healer and provider for those who call upon him as Savior.
Pro Life
All Christians are called to protect life, the unborn and born, young and old. GCC is actively involved in Pro-Life activities through personal opportunities, the Texas Right to Life organization and the the local ministry of the Montgomery County Right For Life.
Adoption Option
GCC encourages families to consider the option of adoption when praying for more children. Many of our families have adopted children and provide valuable counsel. We encourage couples to work through local, national and international agencies when considering this option. GCC provides limited matching funds to those members in financial need.
Citizenship
We have a mandate as a Christian citizens to be involved in our local, state and national governments. Each adult of age is expected to be a registered voter and participate in elections. Families are also encouraged to participate in local political opportunities when possible. Through the Houston Area Pastor’s Council, we stand united with our regional sister churches in promoting Christians values and principles in our society.
